Gabe Stansbury delivered a two-run homer in the third inning and the

Laguna Beach High baseball team rolled from there as it defeated

visiting Tesoro, 13-8, in Pacific Coast League baseball action on

Tuesday.

Stansbury’s blast tied the score at 3-3.

Laguna, which improved to 3-1 in league and evened its overall

record at 5-5, scored 10 runs throughout the final three innings,

getting four in the fourth and three each in the fifth and sixth to

take a 13-8 lead.

Stansbury started on the mound for the Breakers but the win went

to junior reliever Aaron Pickett (1-0) who won his first game this

season.

The win over Tesoro came on the heels of another double-digit

scoring game for Laguna which last Friday took a wild, 12-11 league

road victory from Northwood.

A nine-run fifth inning helped the Breakers wipe out a 5-1 deficit

and take a 10-5 lead.

Jonathon Cedeno, Vyrl Bieser and Grant Harrel all pitched with

Harrell getting the win.

The victory improved the junior’s record to 3-0.

In boys’ tennis, Laguna on Tuesday posted an 11-7 nonleague win

over visiting Webb.

In boys’ volleyball, Laguna fell at top-ranked San Clemente, 2-15,

16-14, 4-15, 11-15.
