Starting pitcher Alex Germano and closer Dillon Pierce combined

efforts to strikeout 10, and the pair accounted for five runs in

leading Hobie Sports past the San Juan Capistrano Angels, 6-5, at San

Juan Sports Park.

Hobie improved to 6-0 overall but had to come from behind to

remain unbeaten.

Down 1-0, Hobie pieced together a walk to Ty Pierce, a single by

Matt Moisen and walks to Eli Viszolay and Cole Kennedy, for two,

second inning runs and a 2-1 lead.

The Angels responded with a run in the bottom of the second to tie

the game again, but Dillon Pierce singled and Germano hit a sacrifice

fly to score Pierce to give Hobie a 3-2 advantage in the third.

Hobie again trailed, 4-3, through four innings but a lead-off

single by Dillon Pierce, followed by a RBI single by Ty Pierce, tied

the game at 4-4.

Dillon Pierce’s pitching shut down the Angels in the fifth and

sixth innings to keep the game tied.

In the top of the seventh, Dillon Pierce reached base for a third

time in the game and scored when Germano tripled to left-center

field. Germano scored what turned out to be the winning run on an RBI

ground out by Ty Pierce for a 6-4 Hobie’s lead.

San Juan Capistrano scored an unearned run in the bottom of the

seventh but Dillon Pierce closed out the game by getting the final

Angels’ batter to look at a third strike.
