Montage Resort is truly a treasure

Well, we just got back from a lovely dinner at the Loft Restaurant at

the Montage Resort and thought we would share the experience with our

fellow Lagunans.

Following the dedication ceremony of Art in Public Places at the

Montage Park we enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the park area.

After dusk, we went up to the main lobby and were very impressed

with the view of the illuminated surf on the reef from that vantage

point.

How great that the planners of this resort figured out how to

layout the buildings and pool so that windows from the lobby sitting

area look out straight across the magnificent pool to the reef. The

bright lights shining on the surf, breaking on the reef was

fantastic.

Our compliments to all who so carefully planned these structures

and parks so carefully.

After enjoying this magnificent view, we went to the Loft for

dinner. We were given a window seat and we had a similar view of the

illuminated surf on the reef. Much to our surprise we were happy to

discover that the meals were priced about the same as in any of

Laguna’s other fine restaurants. The service was prompt,

knowledgeable and polite and my salmon was excellent. Diane’s prime

rib was also excellent.

Needless to say, we were impressed with the Art in Public Places,

the total layout, the planner’s skill of taking full advantage of the

ocean views and the ambience and food quality of the restaurant.

Incidentally, the whole place was very alive with people enjoying

the lobby area and the restaurant. We thought on a Thursday night we

would find things very quiet, but it was just the opposite.

Again, our compliments to those who have so carefully planned and

executed this treasure for Laguna.
