Vanguard men win

POINT LOMA -- Vanguard University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams

vied in Golden State Athletic Conference action Thursday, the men

taking a 5-4 decision and the women dropping a 7-2 match.

Vanguard’s top four singles players, Calle Lumsden, Calle

Holmgren, Philip Mardh and Ivan Bjorklund were all winners to pace

the men’s victory.

Olga Hluschchanka ran her singles record to 18-0 with a 6-1, 6-1

victory over Anna Sieczka, but the only other success was in doubles

where she paced an 8-6 victory.
