CdM girls dominate

* GIRLS: The Corona del Mar High girls swimming team defeated Pacific

Coast League visitor Northwood, 115-55, Wednesday.

Freshman Lexie Shue won the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.34)

and the 500 freestyle (5:19.26) and also chipped in on two victorious

relays.

Kim McKay won the 200 free (2:00.82), was second in the 100

butterfly for CdM.

Jackie McCoy won the 50 free (27.03) and was second in the 100

breaststroke (1:16.59).

Brittney Bowlus (100 free in 55.60) and Tumua Anae (100

breaststroke in 1:11.57) were also winners for the Sea Kings.

Tars rule Warriors

* BOYS: Senior Andrew Cole won two events and Newport Harbor High

won all but two individual events, leading to a 100.5-67.5 victory

over Sea View League host Woodbridge at University High.

Cole won the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.33) and the 100 butterfly

(54.79). .

Sailors triumphant

* GIRLS: Seniors Nicole Mackey and Jenna Murphy each won two

individual events and the visiting Newport Harbor High girls swim

team won the Sea View League dual meet against Woodbridge, 93-71, at

University High Wednesday.

Mackey won the 100 butterfly (58.95) and the 100 backstroke

(58.34) while Murphy won both the 100 breaststroke (1:12) and 200

individual medley (2:15.02).

Alex Anderson (200 free in 2:06.07) and Anne Belden (100 free in

55.81) also won.

Anderson, Belden Annmarie Harvey and Mackey teamed to win the 200

free relay in 1:45.50.

T-wolves topple CdM

* BOYS: The Corona del Mar High boys were defeated by Pacific

Coast League visitor Northwood Wednesday, thought official results

were not available.

Daniel Nehenke won the 100-yard freestyle in a personal-record

54.76 and that Ryan Moore also posted a PR by winning the 500 free in

5:24.
