ANTEATER BALLPARK -- UC Irvine rallied from a 3-0 deficit with four

runs in the fifth, then erupted for five more after visiting Cal

State Northridge had tied it at 4-4 to earn a 9-4 Big West Conference

baseball victory Saturday night.

Chris Klemm’s three-run double capped the Anteaters’ fifth-inning

outburst, that also included a bases-loaded walk to Brett Dalton.

An error helped the Matadors (10-35, 4-7 in conference) tie it in

the fifth, but UCI (17-26, 5-6) answered immediately as Dalton capped

the uprising with a two-run single.

Matt Fisher went 3 for 4 and Jon Horwitz was 2 for 5 in UCI’s

12-hit attack.
