Radeva nets Ojai 14s title

Costa Mesa’s Nelly Radeva won the girls 14s singles title Saturday at

the prestigious Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament.

Radeva beat Gabriela Gresham, 2-6, 6-0, 6-2, in the final, after

topping Pamela Montez, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4, in the semifinals.

Newport Beach’s Kaes Van’t Hof breezed through his semifinal match

in the CIF boys singles division Saturday, topping Eric Riley, 6-1,

6-0. Van’t Hof, who attends Mater Dei, then lost to top-seeded Jeff

Das in the final, 5-7, 3-6.

Newport Beach’s Jake Fleming was runner-up in boys 14s singles,

falling to Andrew Mateljian, 0-6, 7-6, 6-4, in the final. HE defeated

Fabian Matthews in an all-Newport semifinal, 6-2, 6-0.

Garrett Snyder, a Corona del Mar senior, played Das tough, but

lost a CIF Division singles semifinal, 6-4, 2-6, 6-7 (2-7) at

Thatcher School.
