Dodgers outlast Cardinals

Chance Ross came up with three singles and Brandon Visnoski tripled

to lead a potent Dodgers hitting attack in a 10-6 victory over the

Cardinals in Seaview Little League Majors Division play.

In addition, Visnoski joined teammates Ryan Smith, Josh Lesinski,

Zack Campell and A.J. Vaccaro in hitting singles.

Matt Reed, Dylan Ybarra and Ben Tinsely each walked twice for the

Dodgers.

Ross also threw the first three innings and Kurt Heyer finished on

the mound.

Bobby Barnett belted a bases-clearing home run, Wesley Lightman

went two for two and Trevor Whitecotton, Parker Shannon and Josh

Amaral each had key singles.

In other games:

Dodgers 12, Pirates 5

Josh Lesinski went three for three, Ben Tinsley singled twice and

Brandon Visnoski, Chance Ross, A. J. Vaccaro and Kurt Heyer each had

timely hits for the Dodgers.

Trevor Robinson finished with two hits and singles went to Billy

Keller, Jake Ayer, Tyler Leamer, Morgan Duffy and Douglas Thomason.

In Ocean View Little League Majors action:

Twins 7, Giants 2

Jonathon Combest delivered a three-run home run in the first

inning to propel the Twins past the Giants.

Matt Sluman, Kevin Mackey and Nick Schulenburg each had two hits

to back a 10-strikeout pitching performance by Andrew Ragsdale.

In Huntington Valley Little League Majors action:

Diamondbacks 5, Pirates 0

In a must-win situation to force a playoff for the first half

championship, the Diamondbacks rose to the occasion by scoring five,

first inning runs, then made them stand in a shutout victory.

Tanner Phillips and Matt Reza singled in an inning highlighted by

Trevor Carberry’s triple.

Barry Luke shut down the Pirates on two hits and struck out five.

The Pirate hits came from the bats of Richard Levinson and Brian

Schwartz.

Pirate reliever Tim Higgins pitched well in relief, striking out

six without allowing a hit.

The two teams met later this week in a one-game playoff to

determine the first half champion.

Dodgers 13, A’s 6

The Dodgers pounded out 10 hits to produce 13 runs paced by Nick

Gialenes who went three for three with a double and three runs

scored.

Austin Raban had two hits and Houston Hill, Mike Willson, Matt

Humphries, Jared Gilbert and Reed Thomas all singled.

For the A’s, Race Parmenter doubled twice and singled, Trevor

Springman singles three times, Nick Miller doubled an singled and

Jonathan McBeth doubled and scored twice.

Angels 10, White Sox 6

The Angels spotted the White Sox a six-run lead, then roared back

to claim victory.

Jake Machado’s two hits included a double, Jake Gordon singled

twice and scored twice, Eric Frempter doubled, John Olive tripled in

a run and Wade Carden, Dillon Petrarca, Brock Butlett and Cody

Johnson each singled for the Angels.

Jordan Singh’s two hits led a White Sox attack that included a

Jordin Davis double and singles by Travis Hanley and Arturo Duarte.
