Symphony Pops in concert in Segerstrom Hall at 8 p.m. tonight.

2Parissa and Dastan. The Philharmonic Society of Orange County

will present the Parissa and Dastan Ensemble in concert at 7 p.m. May

11 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Tickets cost $100,

$59, $55, $40, $29 and $19 and can be purchased from the Center’s box

office at (714) 556-2787. The Center is at 600 Town Center Drive,

Costa Mesa.

3The 88 are in town. The Detroit Monday night residency continues

with special guests for the month of May, the 88. Listening to the

Beatles, Bowie, Elton John and Dylan made the band want to write

songs along those lines. Come check them out each week with a

4Flamenco night. Solo guitarist Ken Sanders performs classical

flamenco tunes at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Carmelo’s Ristorante, 3520 E.

5Poetry. Poets Lee Mallory and Ricki Mandeville weave a sensual

tapestry of words from Mallory’s “Bettin’ on the Come” poetry book

and earlier favorites. Also performed will be Mandeville poems,
