Ducks’ Carlyle nets hat trick

Jeff Carlyle scored three goals against the Red Wings in a 7-2

victory by the Ducks in a Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area

fourth-grade roller hockey game.

Kellon Truxton sent a backhand in for the winning goal in the

final quarter and Brady Morgan capped the Ducks’ scoring.

Kaz Patelski began the scoring with a slap shot from his defensive

position.

The Ducks received solid defensive efforts from Morgan Williams

and Quest Truxton.

Goalkeepers Tory Morgan and Kellon Truxton kept the game close.

Carlyle and Quest Truxton usually play on the first-and-second

grade team.

Ian Sequeira led the Red Wings’ scoring.

In first-and-second grade action:

* Ducks 7, Kings 2

Carlyle, Brady Morgan and Quest Truxton led a solid offensive

attack against the Kings while Nick Shallahamer, Jenna Nulty and

Charlie Barber showed steady defense.

Cade Scharnell and Robert Lyons each played well in goal, stopping

several shots.

In fifth-grade play:

* The Red Wings continued their strong play with a win over the

Stars, 11-6, and the Canadians, 10-3.

Rusty Sary scored six goals against the Stars while Jared Cassidy

and Newett each tallied two. Hannah Toohey found the back of the net

once.

All seven players scored at least one goal for the Red Wings

against the Canadians. Corbin Kay and J.P. Muller each scored their

first-ever goals while Harrison Rolfes, Toohey, Sary, Cassidy and

Newett also added scores.

Cassidy and Newett each made eight saves in goal.

* Red Wings 5, Blues 2

Rusty Sary and Logan Newett each scored in the first half for the

Red Wings in a 5-2 win over the Blues in fifth-grade roller hockey

action for the Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area.

Hannah Toohey, J.P. Muller, Harrison Rolfes and Corbin Kay pitched

in for the win.

Sary scored two more goals and Jared Cassidy tallied one in the

second half.
