Sponge Bobs end season with win

George Demes picked up a hat trick and the Sponge Bobs out of AYSO

Region 117 wrapped up the 2003 spring season with a 7-0 win against

Region 54.

Demes’ three goals were followed by Shannon Bolotin who posted two

goals.

The other scores went to Theresa Bandurian and Hayley Townsend

with Erika Longoria and Arielle Freleaux assisting the offense.

Keeper Melody Sainz got the shutout and was backed by defenders

Caitlin MacKenzie, Jessica Ross and Kristy Verone and midfielders

Alison Hensley, Jessica Parker and Joanna Steinhaus.

The Sponge Bobs, coached by Dale Hensley and assistant coach Ed

Schroeder, improved to 6-1.

Sponge Bobs 6, Bad Girls 1

Alison Hensley and Erika Longoria each posted two goals and the

Sponge Bobs took care of the Bad Girls out of Region 56A, 6-1.

Freleaux and Jessica Ross each had one goal to complete the Sponge

Bobs’ scoring.

Stephanie Schroeder, Steinhaus and Hayley Townsend assisted the

offensive.

Keepers Sainz and Bolotin limited the Bad Girls to a single goal

and were backed by the strong defensive play of Bandurian, George

Demes, MacKenzie and Verone.
