Kniffin and Weichert, all-academic

UC Irvine senior David Kniffin and junior Kyle Weichert were named

Academic All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation scholar-athletes for

men’s volleyball.

Student-athletes must have had a 3.0 or better cumulative

grade-point average, be at least a sophomore academically, completed

one full academic year at his institution and have competed in 50% or

more of the institution’s competition.

Kniffin, a setter, finished the year third nationally in set

assists with a 13.95 average. He is a two-time scholar-athlete,

majoring in philosophy and history.

Weichert, a middle blocker, was ranked 19th nationally in blocking

(1.17). He is a two-time scholar-athlete majoring in social ecology.
