Costa Mesa’s National Night Out is in August
Costa Mesa Police will sponsor its 20th annual National Night Out,
a national event against crime and drugs, and a show of support from
communities across the nation, on Aug. 5.
The event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention
awareness, generate support for anti-crime efforts and strengthen
neighborhood spirit and community partnerships.
From 6 to 9 p.m., residents in neighborhoods throughout Costa Mesa
are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights and spend
the evening with neighbors, police and fire officials.
The city will serve hot food and raffling prizes donated by local
businesses at the intersections of Shalimar Drive and Placentia
Avenue, El Camino and Mendoza Drive and at Belearic Park and
Community Center.
