Anteaters honored

UC Irvine senior men’s golfer Jeff Coburn, the Big West Conference

Player of the Year, has been named PING All-Pacific Region for

2002-03.

Coburn, who had five top-10 finishes this season, led UCI with a

72.08 stroke average. He was also a first-team All-Big West

selection.

Senior Mike Lavery, a psychology and social behavior major, was

named to the Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar team. Lavery, who won

this year’s Big West individual title, had four top-10 finishes and a

72.47 average in 2002-03.

Lavery, who also was a first-team All-Big West selection, was

named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District VIII at-large third

team this spring.
