Rally Monkeys win in no-hit shutout

Five pitchers combined on a no-hitter and the Rally Monkeys rolled to

victory in South Huntington Beach Girls Fastpitch Softball postseason

play by shutting out the Firecrackers, 11-0.

Nicole Zapotoczny, Lauren Deats, Tori Romero, Tara Stuhr and

Kendall Buchoz each saw mound action.

Zapotoczny, Deats, Stuhr and Buchoz all have been named to the

division All-Star team.

Offensively, the Rally Monkeys pounded out 13 hits to produce

their 11 runs.

Zapotoczny had a big game with a home run in a three for three

performance and Deats and Buchoz each homered and finished two for

two.

In other 8-and-under action:

All-American Angels 4, Rally Monkeys 2

Kelynn Mullaly broke a 1-1 tie by hitting a three-run homer in the

bottom of the third inning to lift the regular season champion

All-American Angels past the Rally Monkeys.

Mullaly and Madison Hickman each finished with two hits for the

Angels and Krystal Keenan and Alex Cook each had one.

Kendall Buchoz and Nicole Zapotoczny each had two hits and Tara

Stuhr and Tori Romero each had one for the Rally Monkeys.

Rally Monkeys 1, Green Maniacs 0

Dana Kerins’ RBI single scored Tori Romero for the game’s only run

as the Rally Monkeys survived the Green Maniacs.

Nicole Zapotoczny, Tara Stuhr and Tori Romero combined on a

two-hit shutout.

Sinead Martin and Stuhr each had hits for the Rally Monkeys;

Sydney Kelly and Megan Pasternack had hits for the Green Maniacs.

All-American Angels win regular season title

The All-American Angels came up with two big wins on the final day

of the regular season to capture first-place in the 8-and-under

Division of South Huntington Beach Softball.

By defeating the Firecrackers and the Dolphins, by identical 5-3

scores in a doubleheader, the All-American Angels were able overtake

the Blue Thunder in the final division standings.

Six All-American Angels were named to the 8-and-under All-Star

team: Kelynn Mullaly, Madison Hickman, Sarah Wood, Casey Africano,

Karli Tahti and Carly Bradford.
