Hearing postponed for teens accused of rape

Attorneys for three Rancho Cucamonga teens accused of gang-raping

an unconscious 16-year-old girl in a Corona del Mar home last July

are set to make pretrial motions to have the case dismissed on July

25.

A pretrial hearing for Gregory Haidl, Kyle Nachreiner and Keith

Spann was scheduled for Friday, but it was postponed to July 25.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Everett Dickey ruled in January

that the teens must stand trial after he watched a 20-minute

videotape the teens reportedly filmed that captured the incident in

lurid detail.

The three Inland Valley teens -- who were all 17 at the time of

the incident -- face 24 counts.

Haidl, son of Orange County Assistant Sheriff Don Haidl, and

Nachreiner face enhancements for allegedly inflicting great bodily

injury to the victim and using a deadly weapon -- in this case a pool

cue -- to penetrate her.

The trio, students at Rancho Cucamonga High School, will be tried

as adults for the July 6 incident that reportedly happened in Don

Haidl’s Corona del Mar home. Defense attorneys have argued that the

victim consented to sex.
