Newport Harbor High senior Amy Burlingham, a two-time Parade Magazine

All-American, will play in the McDonald’s All-American girls soccer

game Sunday at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, S.C.

Burlingham, bound for the University of Texas, was selected from a

pool of more than 1,000 players by the National Soccer Coaches

Association of America. She is among eight who will represent

Southern California.

As a McDonald’s All-American team member, Burlingham will compete

with the top 25 female high school senior soccer players in the

nation. The game starts at 2 p.m. PST.

“We are extremely honored that Amy will be among the eight

Southland players on the McDonald’s All-American high school soccer

team,” said Neal Ruby, president of the McDonald’s Operators’

Association of Southern California. “These great players are poised

to shape the future of soccer in this country.”
