CITY HALL

PARKING LOT PERMIT

Shaheen Sadeghi, authorized agent for Harold Cozen, applied for a

permit to pave a vacant property at 708 and 714 Randolph Ave. for use

as an off-site parking lot for the Lab. Sadeghi has been informally

using the gravel-surfaced Randolph Avenue properties for Lab overflow

parking for several years. He now proposes to improve the lot and to

credit these off-site spaces for future uses at the Lab.

WHAT HAPPENED

The commission approved the permit with the condition that Sadeghi

can only use the off-site parking lot as long as his lease at the Lab

is in effect.

CARWASH PERMIT

James Simon, authorized agent for Carl Stevens, is applying for a

permit to establish a hand carwash and detailing business, including

outdoor work, at 1619 Superior Ave.

WHAT HAPPENED

The commission continued the item after Todd Carson, who owns

another carwash business down the street raised concerns about

whether the parking and traffic plans were adequate. Carson’s lawyer

also questioned whether the project satisfactorily met the

environmental standards.

FAIR PARKING PERMIT

Becky Bailey-Findley, authorized agent for Russell Tieman /

Experian, is applying for a permit for off-site parking at the

Experian parking structure for use by Orange County Fairgrounds

patrons during the Orange County Fair, weekends only, with a shuttle

service included. The parking lot is at 475 Anton Blvd.

WHAT HAPPENED

The commission approved the permit with a condition requiring

directional signage to make sure people can find the correct parking

lots.

WHAT WAS SAID

“When I went to try to find it, I failed at all of that,” said

Planning Chair Bruce Garlich. “It’s not easy to get into the right

parking lot.”
