Golden West water polo club teams qualify for Jr. Olympics

The Golden West Water Polo Club’s 18- and 16-and-under girls’

teams qualified for the Junior Olympics to be held July 30 through

Aug. 3 in Orange County.

The 18-and-Under team placed second in the qualification

tournament from which the top six teams advanced to the Jr. Olympics.

The 16-and-Under team finished third in its division to also

qualify.

The teams also will travel to Maui to compete at the Maui

Tournament Aug. 4 through 10.

Tenth annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Monday

The 10th annual Benefit Golf Tournament will be held Monday at

SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach.

Golfing will take place during the day and an evening of

festivities include dinner, dancing and an auction.

The event will benefit the Jonsson Cancer Center at UCLA.

Registration and a putting contest begin the day at 9 a.m. It ends

with an awards dinner, dancing and live auction at 6:15 p.m.

YMCA taking registration for Rookies soccer

The West County Family YMCA of Huntington Beach is taking

registration for its Rookies soccer season now through Friday.

The league is open for children ages 3 to 7. The six-week season

begins July 7 and runs until Aug. 14.
