30 as OCC’s “Outstanding Citizen” of 2003 ... Michael Beitman, 13, of

Pegasus Middle School in Newport Beach won Junior Division first

place honors in the Electricity and Electronics category competition

of the 48th annual Orange County Science & Engineering Fair. Carissa

Cummings, 14, of Pegasus Middle School in Newport Beach won Junior

Division first place honors in the Behavioral Sciences category

competition of the science and engineering fair. Amanda Wilson, 10,

of Newport Beach won two honors in the Computer Generated Art, and

Invitations/Flyers/ Announcement categories competition of the

science and engineering fair. Diana Rosas, 17, of Costa Mesa won

first place honors in the photography category at the science and

engineering fair ... Jeremiah D. Cleveland, a naval petty officer 3rd

class and a 1998 graduate of Costa Mesa High School, recently

returned from duty in the Mediterranean Sea and the Arabian Gulf

Fashion Island, Newport Beach. Katie Loan Nguyen of Costa Mesa

recently received a doctorate degree from Samford University in

Birmingham, Ala. ... Dean Connable Wills of Newport Beach received a

master’s degree from Oregon State University. James Kirk Tabb of

promotion of Gail Holmes to assistant executive director of
