District play ends for Laguna Majors

Laguna Beach Little League’s Majors Division All-Star team made a

quick exit from the District 55 All-Star Tournament as it dropped its

first two contests of the double-elimination event.

Last Saturday at Curtis Park in Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach was

blanked by Laguna Hills, 10-0.

Two days later, in a “second chance” game on Monday, Laguna’s stay

in postseason play was ended by Northwood which scored a 12-4

victory.

Laguna’s 9/10 District All-Star team will get its “second chance”

to stay alive in tournament play when it takes on Saddleback Saturday

at 1 p.m. at Aliso Elementary School.

The 9/10 District All-Star team dropped its tournament opener last

Saturday, falling to Rancho Santa Margarita, 9-5.

The double elimination tournament in each division concludes with

championship play on July 17.
