The race for the District 62 Little League All-Star 9/10 Division

title has come down to a battle between Huntington Valley and

Robinwood.

Host Huntington Valley won the opening game of the best-of-three

series to determine the district champion, 11-1, Monday night.

Sam Mikulak homered to highlight a game that was halted by the

mercy rule.

Huntington Valley swept three opponents in impressive fashion to

win the Area 1 half of the tournament bracket and Robinwood turned in

a similar feat in Area 2 play to set up a best-of-three showdown at

Wardlow Park for the district crown.

That series opened this week at Huntington Valley Little League.

Huntington Valley’s road to the Area 1 title and a berth in the

district final began with a 7-3 win over Costa Mesa American,

continued with a 10-8 decision over Fountain Valley and ended last

Saturday with their second win over Costa Mesa American, this one, a

14-3 drubbing.

Robinwood, meanwhile, rolled to the Area 2 title at TeWinkle

School by edging host Costa Mesa National, 5-4, then ran away from

Seaview, 18-4, before wrapping up Area 2 play last Saturday with an

11-3 win over Ocean View.

4-4 tie and lift Huntington Valley to victory.

Bryson was pinch-running for Finau Fiaseu who reached base on a

walk.

Earlier, Fiaseu had singled in two runs in the fifth inning.

Visnoski also scored two runs and Patrick Hart, who caught all

eight innings, also scored a run.
