Coco is a lucky little dog, adopted through the Newport

Beach-based Community Animal Network’s new “Do You Want a Dog?”

program.

“We hope this program will help us satisfy pet-lovers who are

waiting for that special pet match,” founder DiAnna Pfaff-Martin

said.

Listings for dogs are placed on the Network’s Web site, she said.

People looking for a specific breed may submit their request via

e-mail at wantdog@ animalnetwork.org.

“We really need people wanting big dogs to come forward as

homeowners’ associations, and apartment rules are forcing euthanasia

rates for big dogs at shelters,” Pfaff-Martin said.
