Blues night will take place on Wednesday

The Center Stage chapter of the Guilds of the Orange County

Performing Arts Center will present its annual open-air fund-raiser,

“Hot Blues on a Cool Summer Night,” from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at

South Coast Plaza Village.

The acclaimed Steve Copeland and the Raging Sun will be the

featured entertainment.

Dining will be provided by South Coast Plaza and South Coast Plaza

Village restaurants, including Antonello Ristorante; Bluewater Grill;

the Clubhouse; the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf; Haagen-Dazs; Maggiano’s

Little Italy; Nello Cucina; Pinot Provence Restaurant; Quattro Caffe;

Rainforest Cafe; Royal Khyber; Vie de France; and Z’Tejas.

Balboa Village welcomes new event

Balboa Village will host “La Strada Dell’ Arte: An Italian Street

Painting Festival and Taste of Italy” on Balboa Peninsula from 10

a.m. to 6 p.m. from Oct. 4 to 5.

The two-day event, which is free to the public, offers authentic

Italian food, wine and beer. More than 100 artists will be creating

chalk murals. The festival will also have the Piazza de Bambini, an

area for bourgeoning young artists, and strolling musicians, mimes

and dancers.

Proceeds from “La Strada” will support the Balboa Performing Arts
