Vipers get past Young Americans in OT

Hayden Garcia’s goal in overtime -- his first of the game -- was the

difference for the Vipers, who edged the Young Americans, 9-8, in a

Wales Division contest at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in

Huntington Beach.

Drew Bertoni led the Vipers’ attack with four goals and one

assist.

Ali Plummer scored twice with one assist, Nelson Kays scored once

with one assist, and Kevin Ewing scored once.

Matthew Duran recorded 33 saves.

Damian Raburn paced the Young Americans with four goals and an

assist, and Aaron Nguyen and Cameron Marino each scored twice with an

assist.

Jacob Renaud finished with 33 saves.

In other games:

Wings 8, Spiders 2

Alex Litten netted four goals and had one assist, and Dean

Neugebauer scored three times to lead the Wings.

Brandon Mohl had a goal and assist.

Rory Folsom had 23 saves.

For the Spiders, Ryan Morse and Jimmy Hocker scored, and Ethan

Berg had 32 saves.

Roller Rebels 5, Kings 2

Tyler Bertrand’s two goals led a Roller Rebels’ attack that saw

Cody Charnell, Zachary Charnell and Hunter Nelson each score once.

Cody Charnell also had an assist, and Bryan Paranal finished with

28 saves.

Carsten Beith and Anthony Thompson each had a goal and an assist,

and Kelan Stuart had 33 saves for the Kings.

Team Fire 9, Mighty Midgets 2

Cody McWhirter scored four goals and assisted another to lead Team

Fire.

Three goals and an assist went to Christian Wildey, Brock Ane

scored once with two assists, and Andrew Fabrigas and Robert Oliver

picked up a pair of assists.

Timothy Francis had 29 saves.

In Norris Division play:

Team L.A. 7, Sharks 1

Derek Loh and Jason Lally each scored twice in Team L.A.’s

victory.

Jake Beideman, Evan Johnson and Elijah Starnes all scored, and

Johnson also had an assist.

Noah Johnson got the win on 17 saves.

Brian Ingram scored unassisted for the Sharks, and Derek Peters

finished with 14 saves.

Lightning 3, Stars 2

Goals went to Nathan Halbur, Ryan Spirovski and Luke Bosiljevac,

and Jonathan Hunt recorded 18 saves.

Kyler Scott and Jeffrey Beko scored, Tanner Chang had an assist,

and Zackary Beko had 11 saves for the Stars.
