WEDNESDAY
* Laguna Canyon Road: A tow truck reportedly struck and killed a
90-pound deer near Canyon Acres Drive at 3:07 a.m.
* South Coast Highway: Police arrested a 21-year-old Norco resident and a 19-year-old Corona resident at around midnight on
suspicion of petty theft and contributing the delinquency of a minor
after they left Jack in the Box without paying for their food. Two
parties younger than age 18 were also in the red Camaro.
TUESDAY
* Cypress Drive: Police arrested a 27-year-old Laguna Hills
resident on suspicion of being drunk in public and resisting,
obstructing and delaying an officer. A resident called police at 6:06
p.m. saying a suspicious person with several tattoos wearing no shirt
and khaki pants was walking down the street.
* Broadway: A patron at a clothing store reported that a heavy-set
man wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts was looking into women’s
dressing rooms at around noon.
MONDAY
* South Coast Highway: Police received a call at 12:05 p.m. from
someone who said a group of doves was in the 500 block that appeared
to be pets. The doves had flown away by the time police arrived at
12:58 p.m.
* Stonington Road: A resident in the 10 block called police at
7:59 p.m. when an electrician found that her house had been
wire-tapped. She wanted it documented for future reference.
* Glenneyre Street: Police arrested a 24-year-old resident in the
1200 block on suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a
deadly weapon after she reportedly hit her 40-year-old boyfriend with
a 3-foot piece of wood. The victim suffered a large bruise on his
right flank. She said she only hit him with the wood because he was
about to grab her by the neck. Police took her to Orange County Jail
and held on $75,000 bail. Police had met with the pair after a
domestic violence call three days earlier, but no action was taken.
SUNDAY
* McKnight Drive: A resident in the 100 block called police saying
he wanted the Realtor who had been putting Open House signs on his
property properly cited at 12:59 p.m.
* South Coast Highway: A resident called police complaining of
loud music in the 31000 block at 12:25 p.m. Police found that it was
coming from a fund-raiser that had permits and its own security
guards. Organizers turned the music down upon the officers’ request.
* Thalia Street: A resident in the 400 block said at 11:29 a.m.
that her neighbors had been keying and pouring pesticides and leaves
on her car for some time. She added that their friends often came
over and parked in front of her house, which she didn’t like.
* South Coast Highway: Police arrested a 46-year-old Pacoima
resident on an outstanding warrant for spousal abuse after a resident
in the 1000 block reported a suspicious subject at 1:22 a.m.
SATURDAY
* Center Street: A resident called police saying an 8-foot-high
children’s toy was in the street at 8:43 p.m. The caller said the toy
wasn’t exactly in the middle of the street, but was in the street
nonetheless.
* Arroyo Drive: A resident in the 1600 block said at 6:56 p.m.
that someone had apparently broken into her house in the 1600 block.
Nothing was reported missing, and the only sign of someone having
been there was a messed-up bed.
* Victoria Beach: A wedding coordinator demanded at 5:56 p.m. that
lifeguards remove everyone from the beach because it had been rented
for the entire day. Lifeguards successfully explained that the party
was entitled to a stretch of the beach, not the whole thing.
* Virginia Way: A resident in the 31000 block called police at
9:05 a.m. saying a man who looked about 30 had been sitting in a
parked Buick banging his head on the steering wheel for about 45
minutes. Police asked the man to leave the area at 9:22 a.m., which
he did.
AUG. 15
* Main Beach: Police issued citations to a man and woman for
swimming nude at 9:50 p.m.
* Laguna Canyon Road: Police received a call that a young man and
woman, about 16 or 17 years old each, had stolen a small Yorkshire
mix with a silver Mohawk down its back from an animal shelter at 2:56
p.m.
