Parts of San Diego Freeway will close

The northbound San Diego Freeway between MacArthur and the Costa

Mesa Freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. today and Thursday

to install a traffic monitoring system.

The alternative route would be the opposite of the aforementioned.

Exit MacArthur, make a right and get on the southbound Costa Mesa

Freeway to get to the northbound San Diego Freeway.

Maddox hosts workers’ compensation forum

Assemblyman Ken Maddox, a Republican who represents Costa Mesa,

will host a town hall forum at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to discuss

California’s workers’ compensation crisis and examine the effect of

workers’ compensation on nonprofit organizations and efforts to

relieve that burden.

The event will take place at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community

Center’s Hamilton Room at 1875 Park Ave., Costa Mesa.

State Farm gives Costa Mesa a $4,000 grant

The city of Costa Mesa has received a $4,000 grant from State Farm

Insurance Co. The money will be used to buy supplies needed for the

Fire Department’s new public education trailer.

The department bought the trailer with grant funds from the

Federal Emergency Management Agency.
