Boy Scouts conduct alumni search

The Boy Scouts of America is seeking help to find former Scout

members for a 50-year reunion.

The Boy Scouts will host the 50th Anniversary of the historic

Irvine Ranch National Jamboree from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20,

at the Disneyland Grand California Hotel.

With more than 40,000 scouts from all over Southern California

participating, this annual event was the largest National Jamboree

ever held and the only one on the West Coast.

The jamboree is the reason that Jamboree Road was built and how

the road got its name.

Memorabilia, photos, patches and uniforms from the 1953 Jamboree

will be on display. Any participant, enthusiast, collector or

interested person is invited to get together to celebrate this

historic event.

If anyone was a Scout and attended the 1953 National Jamboree held

on the Irvine Ranch or knows someone who did, they can e-mail their

name, address and phone number or log on at https://www.ocbsa.org.

Contact information may be sent to Jamboree Alumni Search, 50th

Anniversary Reunion, 3590 Harbor Gateway North, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
