Hammerheads crush Blue Lightning

Danielle Duron netted three goals and the Hammerheads picked up a

victory in AYSO Region 117 girls’ Under-10 Division play by blanking

the Blue Lightning, 5-0.

Duron scored once in each of the first three periods to give the

Hammerheads a commanding 3-0 lead.

Teammate Madison Springer closed out the scoring with a pair of

fourth quarter goals.

In boys’ AYSO Region 117 action:

Blue Crushers 6, Spit Fire 2

Matthew Steinhaus scored a hat trick and the Blue Crushers scored

a victory over the Spit Fire.

Two of Steinhaus’ goals were assisted by Ryan Hakes.

Hakes also scored two goals, one coming on a well-placed penalty

kick.

Forward Nick Graham scored in the second half to complete the

scoring for the Blue Crushers.

Dylan McDonald and Marvin Alteir alternated in goal for the Blue

Crushers and were backed by the defensive play of Graham, Jeremy

Alvarez, Ben Cheng and Mark Mina.

Manning the midfield for the Blue Crushers were Mario Esparza,

Anthony George, Austin Kottkamp and Michael LaPlante.
