GREER WYLDER

The ocean-view Crystal Cove Promenade is expected to open two new

stores by the end of this month: Urban Gardener and Ann Taylor Loft.

Urban Gardener is a specialty florist with home and garden

accessories too. The owners love finding distinct items for the home.

Their selection will include unusual topiaries, herb plants, rustic

urns and antique watering cans. The Urban Gardener’s high quality

floral arrangements can be done in European and popular looks.

They’re known for the visually impressive pav’e style

arrangements-compacted flowers uniquely blended by color and shape.

Flowers designed for wedding, residences, holidays and corporate

accounts are welcome. Its successful original store is at Westcliff

Court in Newport Beach. (949) 642-2949.

Ann Taylor Loft is known for its classic styles favored by

professional women who also shop for relaxed looks and value. It

carries feminine and polished quality suits, separates, dresses and

shoes. Season-to-season fashions coordinate, so customers can easily

build wardrobes. Casual and special occasion wear are available, too.

Crystal Cove Promenade is at East Coast Highway and Crystal Heights

Drive in Newport Beach. For more information on the center, call

(949) 790-9713.

STYLES FOR A CAUSE

Pink Wasabi at Crystal Cove Promenade will support the Susan G.

Komen Foundation with a special reception Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The

Lilly Pulitzer signature store is introducing a limited-edition pink

and green silk scarf. It sells for $30, and 100% of the proceeds

benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The scarves are

popular with celebrities such as Helen Hunt and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Also, Pink Wasabi has reduced its spring and summer collections by

50%. Pink Wasabi is in Crystal Cove Promenade on Pacific Coast

Highway at Crystal Heights Drive in Newport Coast. (949) 497-2422.

HALLOWEEN SUPPLIES

Fashion Island just opened a Halloween Express store, near the

Atrium Lawn. It’s the place to find costumes in all sizes, as well as

decor, props and more. It also carries hard-to-find costumes for pets

and party supplies. (949) 720-1772.

NEW BOUTIQUE ON THE BLOCK

Temple St. Clair chose South Coast Plaza to open its first

boutique store. Dramatic bronze doors set the tone for its interior

that features handmade Tibetan rugs and sleek hardwood floors.

Collectors recognize Temple’s fine craftsmanship, exquisite materials

and timeless designs. Skilled Italian artisans work with 18-karat

gold or platinum that features “precious” semi-precious stones,

diamonds and pearls. New collections are introduced each year, and

the contemporary Classics line is always available. The new Blue

Moonstone Collection features exclusive moonstones from Northern

India; the Magna Collection has triple stone and South Sea pearl

rings, as well as stunning prong settings for precious stones and

diamonds. Chic engagement rings are featured in its new bridal

collection. Prices are from $500 for classic pendants and earrings,

to $35,000 for select pieces. Celebrity collectors include Candace

Bergen, Susan Sarandon, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger, Janet Jackson

and Demi Moore. Temple St. Clair is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Monday through Friday; from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and from 11

a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Level one, Nordstrom wing. (714) 549-4580,

PARIS FLAIR

Paris-based Vertigo is an upscale brand of trendy European

fashions. It’s known for fabulous fits and up-to-the-minute styles.

It carries a complete collection of pants in an array of fabrics,

with coordinating separates -- mostly blouses and jackets, and a few

dresses and skirts. Vertigo is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday

through Friday; from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and from 11 a.m. to

6:30 p.m. Sunday. Level one, Robinsons-May wing at South Coast Plaza.

(714) 556-5903.

NEW-LOOK STORES

South Coast Plaza just remodeled two great stores, Burberry and

Brookstone. Both stores remain in their original locations.

The Burberry store carries the latest looks from the “in vogue”

British company. It’s most recognized for its check print, but it has

branched out with other classic fabrics for stylish apparel and

accessories for men and women. Level two, Jewel Court. (714)

556-8110. https://www.burberry.com.

The new Brookstone store still carries a full range of unique

products: massage chairs, hammocks, electronics, travel items and

hard-to-find tools. Now, the store is neatly organized into

departments. Each section carries innovative products. Level one,

Carousel Court. (714) 979-6655. https://www.brookstone.com.
