Candidates can file for city seat

Residents of Newport Beach’s City Council District 2 who want to

be considered to fill the vacancy on the council through November

2004 can pick up applications at the city clerk’s office or print

them out from the city’s Web site. The deadline for submitting

applications is noon Oct. 9. District 2 boundaries changed earlier

this year in council redistricting. That information is also

available at the city’s Web site or through the clerk. The clerk’s

office is at City Hall, 3300 Newport Blvd.; the phone number is (949)
