The Senior Art Exhibit is a project of the Laguna Beach Senior

Center and Arts Commission working with Banking on Art. Categories

include photography, oils, acrylics, watercolors and mixed media

two-dimensional. All entries must be original and have been executed

within the past two years. The winning entries will be exhibited at

the Wells Fargo Bank, 260 Ocean Ave. through Oct. 29. Reception for

participants and award winners will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 4.

Joachim Haupt. He is known for the modern abstract mixed-media

technique that he developed called “lacquer foil art” that

incorporates lacquer, gold and silver leaf, acrylic paint, abalone

shells, eggshells and mother of pearl to bring the painting to life.
