‘THE LARAMIE PROJECT’

Laguna Playhouse at 606 Laguna Canyon Road is featuring “The

Laramie Project” through Oct. 12. This production explores the people

of Laramie, Wyo., the reactions to the circumstances that led to the

beating death in 1998 of a student named Matthew Shepard. It is a

portrait of a small-town American thrust onto the national stage that

FAMILY SING-ALONG

Every fourth Friday of the month from 6 to 9 p.m. No Square

Theatre will have a family sing-along with the renowned musician

Terry Alaric on piano. Show tunes and standards are encouraged for

FANTASY COSTUME WORKSHOP

Everyone is invited to Carnevale Laguna Beach to see how Europe

does it with several events including the Carnevale Costume Workshop.

Learn to design and create a costume for the Nov. 1 Laguna Beach

Carnevale Party or for Halloween. See photos and videos of

award-winning costumes in the Venice and other European Carnevales.

BELLY DANCE PARTY

OUR TOWN IN

THE EARLY 1900s

“Greetings from Laguna Beach: Our Town in the Early 1900s” just

opened at the Laguna Art Museum and will feature paintings,

photographs and memorabilia that chronicle life in Laguna Beach circa

1900 to 1930. The exhibit includes works by William Wendt, Joseph

Kleitsch, Clarence Hinkle, Edgar Payne and Anna Hills. In 1910,

Laguna’s population was around 300 and many of its residents were

writers, artists and musicians -- much like today. Featuring many of

Laguna Beach’s landmarks, past and present, it’s a vivid history of
