TODAY

The Pacific Community of Secular Humanistic Jews will present a

Yom Kippur observance at 1 p.m. at the Unitarian Church of Costa

Mesa. The event will consist of a Yom Kippur program, discussions on

medical ethics, Jewish history through music and the roadmap to

Orange Coast College will host a public debate on the sale of

KOCE-TV. The debate is sponsored by the United Student Sociologists.

The debate will begin at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Lounge.

Speaking in favor of the sale will be Kevin Parker, an OCC associate

professor of English and president of the college’s Academic Senate.

Speaking against the sale will be Hall Davidson, a KOCE supporter.

TUESDAY

The Tijeras Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita will host the

Crossing’s fourth annual Golf Classic benefiting the educational

outreach program of the Maple Learning Center in Costa Mesa. There

will be $10,000 hole-in-one prizes and chance to win a 2004

Dr. Richard Haskell will present a discussion on Drug-Eluting

Stents: Setting a New Standard. A new medical device, the

drug-eluting stent, and how it can help deal with coronary artery
