Pulverizers, Red Hotties fight to tie in scoreless match

Defense dominated the AYSO girls’ Region 55 Under-12 Division match between the Pulverizers and Red Hotties, which ended in a scoreless

tie.

Lindsay Conlish, Elizabeth Mulcahy, Natilee Seferian and Amber

Soedel keyed the Pulverizers’ defense, which included solid mid-field

play by Sammy Brietbeck, Sarah Howey, Emily Peterson and Leslie

Schwene.

Morgan Lane and Maureen Lefevre combined for the shutout in net.

Red Hottie goalies Bianca Betz and Megan Wolf were supported by

the defensive efforts of Jessica Escobar and Christina Blank.

In other Under-12 play:

Ripcurl 1, Paul Frank Monkeys 1

This battle of undefeated teams ended in a tie.

Kaycee Rogers scored off a Taylor DeGrote assist for the Ripcurl.

Christina Stout and Amanda Fitzpatrick paced the offense, and Chelsea

Salisbury led the way on defense.

Under-10 Division

Hammerheads 3, Fast and Furious 1

Fast and Furious had grabbed an early 1-0 lead on Jillian

Torrance’s first quarter score but the Hammerheads rallied over the

final three periods.

Danielle Duron scored twice for the Hammerheads, who first got on

the scoreboard in the second period when Molly Nalty scored off a

Raquel Clark feed.

It was the first goal of the season for Nalty.

Region 56

Under-12 Division

HB Crush 2, North Huntington Beach 1

Erika Longoria and Alison Hensley each scored goals as HB Crush

outlasted North Huntington Beach.

HB Crush 3, Laguna Niguel 0

Goals went to Erika Longoria, Kirsten Marony and George Demes and

Demes, Alison Hensley and Taylor Thorpe each had assists to lead HB

Crush.

Thorpe and Arielle Freleaux combined in goal for the shutout and

were aided by the defense of Danielle Miller, Lily Khosroupour,

Breanne Justice and Loni Dove.

Region 55

Under-12 Division

Ice Age 3, Raptors 0

Ice Age scored twice in the fourth quarter to break open a tight

match.

Brian Yabuki’s first period goal had given Ice Age a 1-0 lead, a

lead that stood until teammates Brandon Cooley and Zack Etem scored

in the final quarter.

Under-10 Division

Mean Green Gators 4, Sea Serpents 2

Michael Tomasek scored two goals and Randy Harrison and Justin

Rogers each picked up an assist for the Sea Serpents.
