The Newport Beach Newcomers will travel by bus Oct. 15 to the

Huntington Library in Pasadena to hear Bill Frank, Achieve Curator,

Newport Coast Cares will host its annual “Halloween Carnival For

house, rides and a silent auction. All the proceeds benefit Corazon

de Vida Foundation which serves orphanages in Baja, Mexico. The

The Orange County Market Place will hold its sixth annual Trick or

Treat Festival and fourth annual Halloween, Bug and Monster Classic

for children. World-renowned pumpkin sculptor Farmer Mike will be

there. There will be a pumpkin patch, pumpkin-pie-eating contest and

entertainment. The grand marshals will be radio’s Dr. Demento and

Ivonna Cadaver from Macabre Theater on KDOC-TV. The market place

operates at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

South Coast Plaza will host “Pumpkins & Pancakes: A Children’s

Halloween Extravaganza,” from 8 to 11 a.m. The benefit is for Court

Appointed Special Advocates. The event will be at the Crate and

Barrel/Macy’s Home Store Wing. There will be music, an animal show

hosted by Wild Wonders Inc. and a visit from the Costa Mesa Fire
