Costa Mesa High senior Jean You and Estancia freshman Lina You had

something to talk about over dinner Monday, after the two sisters

shared medalist honors in the Eagles’ 242-299 Golden West League

girls golf victory at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.

Jane You said she typically beats her younger sibling, but

credited Lina with a strong performance, shooting 7-over on the Mesa

Linda course.

Junior Karla Ramos (48), junior Sarah Lambert (49), freshman

Bridget Gleason (50) and junior Evelyn Flores (53) also scored for

the Eagles, who improved to 4-1 in league.

Senior Rachel Hughes (52) and junior Teresa Stephens (60) also

contributed for Costa Mesa (1-4 in league).

Golden West defeats OCC

* GOLF: Orange Coast College’s women’s golf team dropped an Orange

Empire Conference match, 354-375, to Golden West Monday at Meadowlark

Golf Club in Huntington Beach.

Laura Sumpter led the Pirates (8-7, 4-2 in conference) with an 84

on the par-71 course. Lorraine Fernando added a 92, Megan Parkovich

shot a 95 and Ashlee Kendall carded a 104.
