Waves of the future

The Huntington Beach Independent went to Seacliff Elementary School

to ask fifth-graders in Sharon Weitz’s class, ‘How has technology

changed your life?’

“I can do things faster now. Instead of having to write everything

I can type and use the Internet to get information I need right

away.”

MAKENA WATT, 10

“It’s a lot easier to research for school projects using the

Internet, and I love spell-check. You can use electronic dictionaries

and thesauruses while doing your work. Everything’s just a lot

easier.”

BROOKE BERNS, 10

“Technology’s out of this world. It’s something you’ve never heard

of before and can use in so many ways. Dictionary.com’s my favorite.”

SARAH KIRK, 10

“Technology’s a big thing in our world now. With Instant Messenger

you can chat with your friends all day long.”

TY BARBO, 10

“You can go places you’ve never been able to go before. You can go

to the moon to get research to see whether animals have lived there

before. It also helps the community and makes me feel safer.”

MICHAEL WILGUS, 11
