Chargers on all cylinders in 30-0 rout of South Coast

Using an all-around team effort to establish domination on the

playing field, the Huntington Beach Chargers routed the South Coast

Tritons, 30-0, in Pop Warner Football Mighty Mite Division weekend

play.

A balanced attack saw Trevor Borkowski score one touchdown and

kick three fields goals. Other touchdowns were scored by Wyatt

Christensen and Jaylen Etnyre and J.T. Doran who scored on a 25-yard

touchdown pass from Cassie Strickland.

The defense got the shutout behind the play of Trenton Aschoff,

Cade Hernandez, Daniel Apalenek, Shane Heath, Blayke La Bounty, Pablo

Lopez, Conner Mase, Chris Pierce, Nick Rommerdahl, Darren Romo, Mark

Sonnetti, Luke Sonne and Jake Thiessen.

In youth baseball action:

Crushers 11, Rox 3

The Southern California Crushers, a youth travel baseball team

comprised of 10- to 12-year olds whose 12-player man roster is

comprised of seven players from Huntington Beach, defeated the host

Irvine Rox, 11-3.

The Crushers took command with a four-run first inning, getting a

two-RBI hit from Tommy Diecidue, an RBI double by Zack Lamantain and

an RBI single by Matt Deaner.

They posted seven runs over the second and third innings as Brad

Schultz singled twice, Diecidue and Bryan Perez each singled, Ben

Albert had a stand-up double and Sean Whitman delivered a bases

loaded double in the third inning.

Albert started on the mound and finished with three strikeouts,

Schultz pitched two scoreless innings and Deaner closed the game.

The Crushers’ defense was led by Perez and Kyle Myres, each who

turned a double play and Justin Wood.
