* Miramar Street: A resident reported at 10:19 p.m. that a boat

off the 1000 block might be on fire, but it turned out to be a

fishing boat with a “very bright yellow light.”

* Lower Cliff Drive: A resident in the 200 block reported that

roofers working on his building were dropping debris on his 1962

Karmann Ghia at 2:52 p.m.

MONDAY

* Iris Way: A resident in the 2500 block reported at 11:30 a.m.

that a deer was under his rear deck and he thought it might be

injured. The deer was determined to be just resting at 11:49 a.m.

SUNDAY

* Pearl Street Beach: A beachgoer called police at 6:11 p.m.

saying that the tide was creeping up on a man passed out on the sand

and that she feared it might sweep him away. The man was arrested on

suspicion of being drunk in public.

* St. Tropez Court: Police arrested two Irish nationals on

suspicion of burglary and vandalism after someone squirted ketchup

and mustard all over a home and stole a cell phone in the 100 block

at 7:57 a.m. One of the two suspects was being sponsored by the

victims on a student Visa, and the other was visiting.

SATURDAY

* Cleo Street: Police arrested a 32-year-old Irvine resident on

suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of

a controlled substance in the 300 block at 2:39 a.m. The suspect had

two DUI convictions.

* South Coast Highway: Police received a call that strikers at

Ralphs had formed a human chain across the driveway and weren’t

allowing shoppers to get to the store’s doors at 5:19 p.m.

* Lamirada Street: A resident reported that a howling dog was

stuck inside a goat fence in the 1200 block at 8:47 a.m.

* Glenwood Drive and Aliso Creek Road: Police arrested a

21-year-old Aliso Viejo resident with “tracks all over her body,”

according to the arrest report, on multiple outstanding warrants at

2:44 p.m.
