Big Red under-12 boys team on a tear

Ryan Kontra scored three goals while Trevor Friedman added two to

lead the Big Red to a 5-2 victory in a boys under-12 AYSO Region 57

soccer game Oct. 18.

Zach Corbin was strong in goal to lift Big Red to its sixth

straight win.

Defensive support came from Neil Baker, Marc Harnen and Zach

Hyter.

Sebastian Welch, Dalton Hilliard, Brandon Rus and Danny

Borg-Sunstrom led the midfield.

In boys under-8 action:

* Green Devils 4, Grey Flames 0:

Cole Friedman, Kavi Sakraney, Blake Sudeck and Matt Hurst all

scored goals while Jeffrey Meyer and Parker Varner supplied strong

goalkeeping.

Gannon Bond, Michael Rouleau and Nate Pozin added solid defense.

In girls under-12 play:

* Breakers 1, Purple Jelly Beans 1:

Both teams showed strong defense with Gina Iovenetti, Victoria

Burkhead and Zoya Mohan of the Jelly Beans stopping offensive breaks.

Casey Goldberg and Allyson Mason provided midfield support with

MacKenzie Ludlow, Amy Arneson and Nicole Green anchoring the defense.

Calli Conti broke the scoreless tie with a goal for the Jelly

Beans late in the game while Natalie Chase found the back of the net

for the Breakers with an assist from Molly Vorwerck in the final

minutes.
