Glenn Boies

Glenn Boies, a former Newport Harbor High athlete known for his

versatility, died of complications from leukemia Tuesday at 1 a.m. He

was 75.

Boies was an offensive lineman for the football team, a pitcher

for the baseball squad and a guard for the Sailors basketball team in

the mid-1940s. He also served as student body president at Newport

Harbor in 1944-45.

Boies worked 40 years for the McKesson-Robins drug firm before

retiring to a home in Fountain Valley with his wife, the late Alene.

Boies is survived by his daughter Robin.
