Police searching for mugger

Newport Beach Police are looking for a man who robbed a

46-year-old Aliso Viejo woman after accosting her in a parking

structure on Friday afternoon, officials said.

A woman reported on Monday that a man had grabbed her from behind

and demanded money when she was walking up to her car after work in a

parking structure in the 100 block of Bayview Circle, Newport Beach

Police Sgt. Steve Shulman said.

“She pulled out her wallet and handed him about $40,” Shulman

said.

The man then released the victim, turned around and fled, and the

woman was not injured, he said.

The robber is described as a black male with short black hair,

brown eyes, clean-shaven, with “bad teeth,” wearing blue jeans and a

white shirt with a red and blue design in front.
