Skiing into the winter season

Young Seconds opened its annual ski room just in time for ski season.

Find some of the best brands in ski and snowboard clothing and

accessories in sizes from children to adult. Racks full of great

bargains are at one-third their original cost.

Young Seconds receives top-of-the-line, stylish children’s

clothing weekly. Casual and formal wear is available, either new or

“gently worn.” Sizes are from infant to teen. And there’s a nice

selection of maternity apparel, children’s furniture, strollers,

cribs, jewelry and accessories. Young Seconds is open from noon to 4

Balboa Island’s charming children’s boutique S.S. Red Sail just

received a collection of high-quality perambulators from Silver Cross

of Leeds, England. The beautiful collection features the Marlborough

pram, which is French navy and trimmed in white with chrome rosettes;

the doll pram; and the heirloom-quality rocking horse. The store also

carries special occasion and holiday wear for children, for infants

Design Within Reach at Fashion Island will host a seminar on

Surfboard Design from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. The informal

presentation will be given by Rocky McKinnon of McKinnon Shapes &

Designs Custom Surfboards in Huntington Beach. Some of McKinnon’s

best and most unique boards will be on display, and he will discuss

how different materials and shapes can affect your surfing. He will

answer questions and meet with visitors. Healthy wraps from Tacone

FUND-RAISER CARD

South Coast Plaza offers “The Angelitos Card,” a shopping discount

card that’s serves as a fund-raiser for Angelitos de Oro, a nonprofit

organization for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. The

Angelitos Card costs $50. With the card, shoppers can receive a 20%

discount at more than 100 South Coast Plaza retailers from Nov. 6 to

10. Cards can be purchased at the concierge desks at South Coast

LUXURIOUS LOCKS

Salon L is a new luxury hair salon complete with a beautiful

bayside view that just opened in Bayside Plaza. Through Nov. 15,

don’t miss its grand opening offer. Each Friday from 4:30 to 6:30

p.m., clients can receive a complimentary blowout and style.

Appointments are required. Its owner, Terry Lander, formerly had the

Terry Landers Salon at the Four Seasons Newport Beach. It has
