Blue Crushers cruise past Golden Eagles

Four players netted goals and the Blue Crushers picked up another

victory in AYSO Region 117 boys’ Under-12 Division play by defeating

the Golden Eagles, 4-1.

Travis McDonald, Matthew Steinhaus, Ryan Hakes and Mario Esparza

each scored for the Blue Crushers, with McDonald and Austin Kottkamp

each getting an assist.

The midfield play of Michael LaPlante, Marwan Alteir, Jeremy

Alvarez and Anthony George, combined with the defense of Nicholas

Graham, Dylan McDonald and keeper Ben Cheng, also keyed the victory.

Tyler Folkins score the lone goal for the Golden Eagles.

In other AYSO action:

No Names 4, Team 351 3

Eric Bergeron’s third period goal, set up by David Hoskins, lifted

the No Names to the one goal victory.

Jeff Wold scored on a rebound shot and Brandon Messer scored off a

Justin Rodriguez pass during the first half of play for the No Names.

The No Names defense, led by Rodriguez, Read Hersh, James Hensley,

Jared Mossembekker and Matt McCoy, and the midfield support of Andrew

Lindsey, Riley Miller and Sam Farnsworth, held Team 351 scoreless in

the final period.

Region 55

Under-10 Division

Silver Strikers 3, Fast and Furious 2

Casey Hayes, Curtis Robideau and Wyatt Marlow, the latter coming

on a penalty kick, each scored goals as the Silver Strikers edged the

Fast and Furious.

Benjamin Drolet, Max McDaniel and Mark Schmidt played key

offensive roles in the win, as did the defense of Aiden Abe, Devin

Lurie, Jake Bryant, David Kent and keepers Luke Fell and Ryno

Harchut.

Region 56

Under-12 Division

HB Crush 1, Tijeras Creek 0

Erika Longoria scored on a breakaway shot in the third period as

HB Crush won a defense battle with Tijeras Creek.

Defenders Danielle Miller, Lily Khosroupour, Rachel Pasternak and

Osiris Ceja and keepers Taylor Thorpe, Arielle Freleaux and George

Demes teamed for the shutout.

HB Crush also received strong midfield play from Alison Hensley,

Alli Budd, Loni Dove, Breanne Justice and Kirsten Marony.

Region 55

Under-12 Division

Rip Curl 0, HB Strikers 0

Defense dominated this opening round playoff game as the two

rivals fought to a scoreless tie.

Cassandra Davis keyed the Rip Curl defense.

Region 117 Under-10 Division

Hammerheads 0, Blazing Dolphins 0

The Hammerheads and Blazing Dolphins played to a scoreless tie in

the regular season finale for both teams.
