SAILING CLASSES

Orange Coast College is offering new credit and noncredit sailing

classes this summer. Most classes are five weeks in length, and boats

range from Lido 14 dinghies to large ocean racers, even keelboats.

Orange County employers can bring their employees out to Newport

Beach on weekdays to enjoy a day of sailing courtesy of Orange Coast

College. The School of Sailing and Seamanship now offers a chance for

groups to work with the on-board instructor on different sailing

techniques while they get advice on how to perform well in business.

No sailing experience necessary. One-day classes cost from $100 to

Orange Coast College is offering a noncredit intermediate Lidos

sailing class in November. The class should be taken after completion

of a beginning sailing class. The class will meet from 1:45 to 5:30

p.m. Sunday afternoons in November at the OCC Sailing Center, at 1801

W. Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach. Registration is $115.

Orange Coast College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship will offer

a five-day, live-aboard, bareboat cruising excursion. The class will

run Saturday and Sunday and Nov. 7 to 9. The bareboat cruising

excursion will let students earn U.S. Sailing Bareboat Certification.
