TUESDAY

* South Coast Highway: A resident reported that a female transient

was repeatedly sleeping behind a building in the 31700 block at night

and leaving urine and feces behind in the morning.

* Bluebird Canyon Drive: A resident reported that his and his

neighbor’s cars were egged at 2:52 p.m. in the 800 block.

* Ocean Front: A resident reported that construction workers were

cutting down trees and branches, which were then hitting homes in the

area and landing on the beach at 10:36 a.m. in the 1200 block. The

resident told police that the workers became belligerent when her

boyfriend asked them to stop.

* South Coast Highway: A shopper reported that a man in his 50s

had urinated on his car at 10:12 a.m. in the 1000 block.

MONDAY

* Virginia Way: Police and firefighters responded to a possible

house fire in the 31000 block at 5:19 p.m., but it turned out to be

only a bonfire.

* South Coast Highway: A resident reported that as limousines

drove away from the Montage Resort, trees dried up as they passed at

4:32 a.m. He told police he believed the incident had something to do

with a government science experiment.

SUNDAY

* Ocean Vista Drive: A resident reported that a medium-size bobcat

was heading toward some condos next door at 4:57 p.m. in the 21600

block. Animal Control suggested that the caller make it uncomfortable

for the animal to stick around, adding the they couldn’t do anything

unless the animal was injured.

* Forest Avenue: A business reported that two vases valued at $225

and $275 were stolen at 10:51 a.m. in the 300 block.

SATURDAY

* Temple Hills Drive: A resident reported that a palm tree was

hitting power lines, causing them to spark at 8:35 p.m. in the 2000

block.

* Ocean Avenue: A man called police saying he’d “almost died”

because of overcrowding at Ocean Brewing Company at 11:31 p.m.

* Mermaid Street: Police arrested a 33-year-old Laguna Beach

resident on suspicion of trespassing and vandalism at 1:46 a.m. in

the 300 block. When police arrived at the vacant apartment, they

noticed a broken window and found the man hiding in a closet with a

badly bleeding hand. He said he had been trying to escape people

who’d been chasing him since around 9 p.m.
