The Sage Hill School girls tennis team, seeded No. 1 in the CIF

Southern Section Division V playoffs, ousted quarterfinal host San

Dimas, 16-2, on Tuesday to advance to the Thursday’s semifinals

against fourth-seeded Malibu (16-2).

A coin flip today at the section office will determine the home

team.

Freshman Stephanie Langer paced the Lightning with a sweep at No.

1 singles, while Nos. 2 and 3 singles players, Sarah Geocaris and

Alle Hsu, respectively, also swept. Jessica Tsoong and Sarah Flynn

won two of three sets at No. 1 doubles for Sage Hill (18-3), while

Grace Graham and Laura Webb won two of three at No. 2. Sage Hill’s

third doubles, freshman Carissa Cummings and sophomore Rachel Heyler,

swept all three sets and lost only five games.

San Dimas fell to 15-5.

Sage Hill reached the quarterfinals last year and is playing its

fourth varsity season.

Singles -- Langer (SH) def. Schiller, 6-0, def. Vista, 6-1, def. Lopez, 6-0; Geocaris (SH) won 6-2, 6-0, 6-1; Hsu (SH) won 6-0, 7-5, 6-1.

Doubles -- Tsoong-Flynn (SH) lost to Carnahan-Coffin, 2-6, def. Ta. Fuscoka-Tr. Fuscoka, 6-1, def. Calvanico-Horstmann, 6-0; Graham-Webb (SH) won 6-4, 6-0, lost 3-6; Cumming-Heyler (SH) won 6-3, 6-2, 6-0.
