with Orange County author and host Chris Alexander at 8 and 9:30 p.m.

“Creating Extraordinary Joy” at 8 p.m. gives a step-by-step plan to

creative choices in living. “Joy in the Workplace with Chris

Alexander” follows at 9:30 p.m.

The Huntington Beach Council on Aging will hold a membership

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 53, will offer a

complete four-lesson course in boating safely at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays

at Boat U.S. Marine Center, 16390 Pacific Coast Highway. The basic

but thorough course is designed for the limited-classroom-time

The Main Street branch of

the Huntington Beach Public Library will host a holiday book sale

today through Dec. 18, with a half-off sale on its last three days.

The Huntington Beach

Chapter of the National Assn. of the Physically Handicapped

provides help to disabled children/adults and help their lives to

become more vital to the community through providing informative

newsletters four times a year from National Headquarters. It meets on

the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Wycliffe Gardens

at 18765 Florida St. Anyone interested in becoming either a regular

Pete’s authentic ‘Dance

for the Waves” Luau includes a lei and shell greeting, Polynesian

buffet open bar, official tiki torch lighting ceremony, hula lessons,

The Clara Barton chapter

of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will

The Pacific Coast Mothers

Club is inviting new members for a new infant group and a

2-year-old group. The Huntington Beach-based organization brings moms

together for companionship and support in child rearing and offers

weekly playgroup and seasonal parties for children ages newborn to 5.

The MISS Foundation is a support group for families who have

experienced the death of a child that meets on the first Thursday of

The Point-to-Point

chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild meets on the fourth

Wednesday of each month (except December) at Rodgers Senior Center at

17th Street and Orange Avenue. Hospitality is at 6:30 p.m., followed

by a general meeting at 7 p.m. The Guild promotes interest and

provides education in needle arts, particularly needlepoint, and is

The Pacific Coast Mothers

Club, a Huntington Beach-based organization that brings mothers

together for companionship and support in child rearing, is inviting

new members. Moms and their children, from newborns to 5-year-olds,

attend weekly playgroup and seasonal parties. The longtime

organization also holds monthly dinner meetings and supports the

community with volunteerism and charity fund-raisers. Moms from all

cities are welcome. A new infant group is starting in August.
