Ice Dogs put freeze on Dragons

The Ice Dogs scored late but often, their six-goal outburst in the

final period proving to be the difference as they defeated the

Dragons, 8-3, in Norris Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey

Center in Huntington Beach.

Five different players scored in the final period, with Brett

Vanderham leading the way with two goals.

Sam Prizler, Jordan Ford, Dillon Chang and Kyle Hayashida also

scored in the period.

Hayashida also assisted two of the final six goals.

Prizler tied Vanderham for overall game scoring honors with a pair

of goals, Maggie Prizler scored once and Ford added an assist.

Brandon Jones finished with 21 saves.

Jonathan Teazis, Trevor Millikan and Gene Jaeger all scored for

the Dragons and James Newman recorded 24 saves.

In other Norris games:

Stars 3, Big Dogs 2

Chase Leamer scored once with an assist and Tyler Burger and Kyle

Haymond each scored once to lead the Stars offensively.

Zachary Beko had 21 saves.

Sean Mastro scored both Big Dogs goals and David Mastro had 22

saves.

Terminators 3, Panthers 1

Nick Edwards came up with 24 saves in limiting the Panthers to a

single goal, Justin Williams scored twice and Mason Woodson and

Garrett Ott each had an assist for the Terminators.

David Luther scored unassisted and Austin Shannon had 26 saves for

the Panthers.

Sharks 5, Slugs 4

Kayden Muzila scored midway through the final period to lift the

Sharks past the Slugs.

Luke Buntich scored twice, Michael Pigors and Aaron Baca-Chavez

each scored once and Hayden Smith had an assist.

For the Slugs, Nathan Enright scored three goals and Dylan Moan

scored once.

In Wales Division play:

Mighty Midgets 6, Predators 6

Kevin Cant’s two goals led a balanced Mighty Midgets attack that

saw single goals go to Michael Charlesworth, Joshua Fisher, Monty

Ruff and Brad Wilson, and two assists going to Cody Franks and one

apiece to Ruff and Bryan Marony.

Cameron Marino’s two goals paced the Predators.

Kings 6, Spiders 1

Drake Dwyer’s two goals keyed the Kings’ attack while Carsten

Beith, Christian Beith, Nicholas Weldon and Travis Clock each scored

once.

Anthony Thompson led the team with two saves and Eric Grant had 18

saves.

Eric Freese scored off a Ryan Morse assist for the Spiders and

Rory Folsom had 22 saves.

Wings 5, Lightning 4

Alex Litten had three goals, Kyle Betz picked up a goal and

assist, Bryan Gonzalez scored once and Matt Korn had an assist for

the Wings.

Aaron Nguyen recorded 19 saves.

Bryan Arrieta scored twice, Hunter Nelson had a goal and assist,

Jacob Gonzales scored once, Josh Wright had two assists and Matthew

Duran had 14 saves for the Lightning.

Avalanche 3, Phantoms 2

Jim Martin scored twice, Anthony Ellis scored once, Evan Zinger

collected two assists and Shayne Thomas had one to lead the

Avalanche.

Kenny Hutchinson finished with 21 saves.

For the Phantoms, Brandon Weiss scored once with an assist,

Cameron Weiss scored once, Matthew Seroka had two assists and Kelan

Stewart had 17 saves.
